sound

why sound?

We all know sound has power.

A song comes on and suddenly you’re 17 again. The sound of rain against a window slows everything down. A loved one’s voice can calm you in a way no advice ever could.

Long before we learned to explain our experiences, we felt them.

Sound has always been one of the ways we navigate the world. It can energize us, move us emotionally, bring back memories or help us find stillness in the middle of a busy day.

A sound bath is built on that simple idea.

Using singing bowls, chimes, drums and other therapeutic instruments, layers of sound and vibration create an environment that encourages the body to slow down and the mind to take a break from everything it’s been carrying,

The science behind

sound healing

Sound is more than something we hear—it’s also vibration that is felt.

Sound moves through water 4-5 times faster than air and the human body is made up of largely water.

One of the key principles behind sound healing is entrainment—the tendency for rhythmic systems to synchronize with one another. Just as your foot naturally taps along to a steady beat or your breathing slows to match a gentle melody, the body can respond to intentional sound through entrainment, helping to encourage the slower brainwave states associated with meditation, relaxation and deep rest.

different brain waves + benefits

Our brains naturally move through different brainwave states throughout the day, influencing how we think, feel, focus and rest. Sound-based practices help encourage shifts into slower brainwaves states often associated with relaxation, meditation and restorative rest.

BETA STATE

Our normal waking state. Helpful for focus and problem-solving, but prolonged time in Beta is often associated with stress, anxiety, overthinking contributing to difficulty relaxing or falling asleep.

ALPHA STATE

The state we often enter during meditation, gentle focus or creative flow. This state is  associated with calm, clarity and a sense of balance between effort and ease.

THETA STATE

A state associated with deeper relaxation and inward focus. Theta is often linked with imagination, insight, intuition, creativity and dreamlike awareness. Many people describe feeling as though they are floating between wakefulness and sleep.

delta STATE

The slowest brainwave state experienced during the deepest stages of sleep. Delta is associated with restoration, recovery deep rest, and the body’s natural healing processes supporting overall well-being and resilience.

what a session looks like

Imagine giving yourself permission to do absolutely nothing for an hour.

A sound bath begins with a few moments to settle in and arrive. Once you’re comfortable, the sounds of crystal singing bowls, chimes, drums, and other therapeutic instruments create an immersive experience designed to support relaxation and presence.

Many people describe feeling as though they are floating somewhere between wakefulness and sleep. Some experience moments of clarity, creativity, or emotional release. Others simply enjoy a rare opportunity to rest without expectation.

There is no right way to experience a sound bath. The invitation is simply to listen, receive, and allow yourself to be supported by sound.

Sessions close gently, with time to reconnect and return feeling grounded, refreshed, and restored.

PRIVATE Group Sound Baths

Sometimes the most memorable gatherings aren’t the loudest ones—they’re the ones that leave you feeling more connected than when you arrived.

Whether you’re celebrating a milestone, birthday, hosting a girls’ night, planning a bridal shower, gathering for a retreat, or simply looking for a meaningful way to spend time together, a private sound bath offers an opportunity to slow down, connect, and share a unique experience.

Each session is thoughtfully tailored to your group and may include gentle stretching, breathwork, guided relaxation, and an immersive sound journey using crystal singing bowls and other therapeutic instruments. No experience is necessary—participants are invited to simply get comfortable, listen, and receive.

Perfect for groups looking for something unique, relaxing, and a little different from the usual celebration.

Private group sound baths are available in homes, studios, community spaces, parks, and other venues throughout the Metro Vancouver.
